The audio guide is the most important source of information for the walk through the exhibition. Here 75 objects are presented by the museums director Prof. Dietrich Wildung, explained and placed within the concept of the exhibition. The objects also have the opportunity through the reading of original ancient Egyptian texts to speak for themselves. Without loosing visual contact to the object the visitor is introduced the world of the ancient Egyptians.
The DVD available in the museum shop permits an intensive reworking of the visit to the museum. Not only are there excerpts from the Audio guide but also an extensive history of the museum can be found on the DVD as well as information about the future development of the Museums Island, reports about historic expeditions and the present excavation project in the Sudan.

Guided tours take place regularly as listed below; for these it is possible to take part without previous registration.

Price tour: € 3,00 per person (adults and children)
Entrance: € 8,00, reduced € 4,00,children until the age of 16 are free
(Thursdays from 18:00 entrance is free for all visitors )
